Two of my favorite pumpkins

Last night I carved pumpkins with Taina, Bryndyn and the kids. Let me tell you, this is hard work! I thought I might have to take the day off from work today because I would be having carpel tunnel surgery or would be in bed suffering from all sorts of aches and pains. My pumpkin was the worst looking pumpkin that I've ever seen. It didn't have a nose and it suffered from a lopsided mouth and eyes. The best part about pumpkin carving? Watching the kiddos have fun. For some reason Caelleb and Tia were both scared of touching the pumpkin "guts" and Miss. T even cried when the "lid" of her pumpkin was cut off.

Dear Prince Lorenzo

Dear Prince Lorenzo,
Because I have your best interest at heart I've decided to let you know my thoughts.
Sadie - pick her. What's not to like?
Lisa - I smell a crazy. I was in awe that you kept her. Not only did her best friend actually have the audacity to bring her a wedding dress but she actually tried it on...in FRONT of you. And did you see the bridal magazines on her end tables? Who does that? Lisa, that's who.
Jennifer - Umm...you might not want to pick the girl whose father cocks a massive gun in your face and threatens you. Just my two cents.
Agnese - This is where you really let me down. Never before in Bachelor-history have I ever witnessed a more heartfelt goodbye. Sure there was a language barrier. Sure you both live on different continents but other than that I actually started to feel the magic and started to get excited that Agnese would be at the end with Sadie. You let me down. Real bad.

Your faithful follower,
Amy

Say it isn't so

Reece Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have formally seperated. Say it isn't so. I know Hollywood marriages aren't usually built to last but I will admit, I thought these two were different, especially after seven years together. They seemed anti-Hollywood. How sad.

A-mazing.

Each fall, for the past six years that I've lived in Columbia, I've always wanted to visit Shyrock's Corn Maze. I never have; until now. Josh, Meagan, Chesney, Brad and I set out on an adventure through 13 acres of corn armed with flashlights and too much energy. This might have to be an annual tradition.

Mizzou-rah!

Unfortunately, the tigers lost 26-10 to Oklahoma on Saturday and I got sunburned on one side of my face. But let's look on the bright side, I got bored and spent almost an entire quarter of the game shopping in the Tiger Team Store. Go Mizzou!

Cel-e-brate good times, come on!

Friday was awesome. The Cardinals won the World Series and I also got to celebrate Meggan's birthday with friends at D'Rowes. Happy Birthday, Meggan. Happy World Series, Cardinals.

Of a revolution

Last night Kim and I went to see O.A.R. in concert. Great show but the only thing that would have made it even better is if the median age range was a little bit higher. When did I get so old?

Trash TV

Every Monday night I go to Taina's house for our weekly dose of "trash tv." You know what I'm talking about...some trashy, reality show that we love to watch. Right now, it's The Bachelor - our favorite trash tv show. We love making fun of it and can usually recite all the happenings before they ever occur. For example, "Up next, the most dramatic rose ceremony ever." I think my favorite part of trash tv is getting to Taina's house a little early just so I can snuggle with the kids and get my good night hugs before they're off to bed. I think they know if they snuggle with me, I'll try to persuade Taina to let them stay up.

Hazard to Ya Booty

What a weekend! First of all - Go Cards! Go Mizzou! Great sports weekend. Becky has been visiting from the UK and staying with me. She's set to leave tomorrow but will, hopefully, be back in another month or two for good. We've had a really great time watching the World Series and catching up on life. Saturday night we met "the neighbors" at the Blue Note to see a band called Hazard to Ya Booty. Really cool funk band. I am so excited to wear my HTYB t-shirt.

Let's get crafty!

Meagan is so proud of her teapot.

Kim, Meagan, Meggan, Monica, Rachel, Rosemary, Becky and I painted at The Mud Room last night. Let's just say, painting is more challenging that it might seem. I recruited our resident artist, Becky to help me out with my Christmas ornaments.

I heart Project Runway

Yes. I absolutely adore Project Runway. It's been my weekly ritual to curl up at 9 pm every Wednesday night and watch Bravo. But why did Jeffrey have to win? It was shear anguish. Let it be known, here and now, I am not happy with the judges' decision. The entire season I have liked Michael and Laura best but then felt like Uli really had a strong collection last night. Michael was off in his collection and Laura was predictable but great. On my wish list is a Tim Gunn Boblehead.

Celebrity Look-alike

Alyson Hannigan

If you go to Myheritage.com you can upload a photo of youself and find out which celebrity you look most like. I've heard Chelsea Clinton before so that wasn't really a surprise but how is it that I look like some dude??? That's not cool. I can only WISH I looked liked Kristen Bell. (I love Veronica Mars!) The celebrity that I've always been told I look most like is Alyson Hannigan and she didn't even make the cut.

The one finger salute

True story. I went downstairs to the cafeteria today with Cristin. The Coke guy was filling up the machines and I wanted a soda so Cristin told me just to ask him for a cold one while he was stocking the machine. I said, "Could I get a cold Diet Coke?" Next thing you know, I'm fishing through my wallet for money and when I look up he's flipping me off. I have no idea why. Cristin is in the background gasping and laughing both at the same time. I just stood there with the deer-in-the-headlights-look not really knowing what just happened. He told me to take the drink and that no payment was necessary. Meanwhile, I am still shaking my head and Cristin is still laughing. What just happened?

Oktoberfest

Saturday I went to Hermann, MO for Oktoberfest. Kim, Meggan C., Monica M. and I were part of a group of 12 who rented a 12-passenger van for the trip. It was fun but of course, I declined eating bratwurst and instead enjoyed pulled pork. The weather was great and I was able to meet up with Natalie there, too. Hermann during Oktoberfest is the PERFECT opportunity for great people-watching. You never know what you'll see!

Caelleb and Tia's birthday celebration

Saturday morning I helped celebrate Caelleb's fifth birthday and Tia's second birthday at Bonkers. (Caelleb and Tia are the children of my friends, Bryndyn and Taina.) The kids had a blast. Why didn't they have Bonkers when I was a kid? There is so much cool stuff now.

Let's get physical

Okay, it's true. I did it. I went to see Olivia Newton John last night. Free tickets from work and I thought it would be fun. My sister and I used to listen to Olivia Newton John all the time - on 8 track!! Yup, my parents had an 8-track player both in a stereo at home and in their car. I remember those days foundly. Anyway, let's just say that Kim and I were quite possibly the youngest people in the audience. The lady in front of us was tapping her cane to the music and Kim leaned over and whispered, "I feel like I'm in Branson." Just to clarify, we don't know exactly how that feels but have our suspicions. Despite the high cheese-factor and much laughter by us, I had a decent time. I mean, how many people can say they did an audience sing-a-long to "Summer Lovin" with ONJ herself?

On another note, I saw The Departed earlier this week with Bonni. I think it might be the best movie I've seen in months. Loved it!!

Breanne's Reception

Breanne's wedding reception was on Sept. 16 at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City. Meggan, Monica, Kim and I had fun dancing the night away.

Breanne's Wedding

September 2 was a beautiful day and the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. Everything went off without a hitch. Seems like only yesterday we were in college...
