After the storm

This is pretty much what my yard looks like today. We had a storm last night with tornado sirens off and on. Joe and I, along with the dogs, spent part of our evening huddled in our tiny, basement bathroom...glad to say that all is well except for our lovely yard debris. Considering we have to bundle and pay for any yard waste that gets set out for collection we will likely have to hire someone to just haul all these tree limbs away.

Sorry! Our backyard looks kind like that right now, since 1/3 of our already-broken pear tree broke off in some storms last week. Luckily we live in the boonies, so it's still laying there in the back yard. When James has time, he'll chop it up and burn it...he's got the 1/3 that fell earlier this spring stacked & ready to burn. Maybe if we have another big storm it'll just take the tree the rest of the way down, and we can just have a HUGE bonfire & get rid of all of it. :-/

Jared said he could take the train up Saturday and bring his chainsaw and cut it up for you. =) Don't think he could haul much of it back with him though.... Time to get that fire pit!

I'm glad you are okay. In "these parts," people haul downed trees for free so they can use the wood in their outside stoves. Too bad you're not here (for many reasons).
