And still nothing is packed

I had grand plans for today. It was going to be a Saturday with nothing to do so I knew Joe and I could spend the entire day packing and really get a lot of stuff done...the stuff we haven't managed to get done during the week because we've had no time. Then my plans were significantly altered. I got word yesterday from our landlord that four sets of people were coming to look at the townhouse today: 9:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm. So Joe and I left the house at 8:30 this morning, took the dogs to daycare (the vet) and made a day of it. First was Barnes & Noble so I could actually get some homework done, then we had lunch and then we went to a movie. After the movie we ran some more errands before picking up the dogs. Finally we made it back home and the house was still occupied at 4:15 so we parked down the street and waited...finally we are now home. Joe says that if anyone else wants to see the townhouse while we're still living here, he's claiming he has the flu.

When is your actual move day? I still think you should set some showing guidelines with your landlord. Like: "Not today, pal, because we need to pack." Or maybe something like, "Could we please not schedule showings on Thursdays, Fridays or Sundays?"

You are absolutely right, Nichole. We've been more than accomodating and I guess it's because these are the same people who give us our deposit back and I have my sights set on new furniture. My biggest hope is that one of the people who came today will take the place and this ridiculousness can stop now. Our move date is dependent on when our new carpet comes in...probably between March 15-25 we'll move.

Hang in there Amy! I can't wait to see your new home. Exciting. If it makes you feel better, my house still looks like the set of Hoarders and I STILL have to put everything back in my closet. I wish I could afford to hire someone to throw away all the vintage 80s stuff ... I can't seem to part with. But all the ceilings and walls are freshly painted so it almost feels new again. I'm going to take your cue and have some chocolate and a nap. :)
