Holding down the fort

I. Saw. A. Mouse. I am currently freaking out. I just went to the store to buy some mouse-catching-killing supplies...and some wine...and maybe some chocolate. I am pretty sure the grocery store employees think I am nuts. Don't worry, I will be sure not to harm my dogs in the process of this adventure. Those lazy creatures were too busy sleeping to realize that a pest has invaded our house. Upon my return home from the store? I spotted it again. Totally freaking out now.

Amy, Amy, Amy. It's a mouse. A mouse! That's all. Haven't you ever watched them play in the pet store? They're cute! I agree that they don't belong in the house, but you'll be okay! Really!

(I've had to develop this philosophy since we tend to buy old houses that have multiple ways for mousie entry.)

I am wondering if it came in through our garage...but they are NOT cute. And our dogs are completely oblivious. I need a cat!

I would catch the mouse and make it my pet. "I will hold you and love you and squeeze you and call you George."

OMG. I'm with you sister. My fear factor is mice. Rats. Any rodents. I lived out in the country for four years where field mice practically took over our walls! I attribute my fear to watching the movie BEN when I was young and believing that rats could kill. They are not cute, they have teeth and carry numerous diseases. If I ever see one in our house, I would be hiring an exterminator. I'm a dog person so the cat deal is not even an option. Good luck! You have my blessing to terminate.

I am just now reading your blog after a very long hiatus, and all I have to say is I know how you feel (except with rats). So not cute!
